sob.jpg (27006 bytes)With the announcement of Son of Beast for the year 2000, woodie fans are shaking in their booties.  SOB is going to be the scariest wooden coaster ever, with it's 220+ ft. drop and the world's first ever loop on a wooden rollercoaster.  Dad would be proud!  But then again, as always there are those who think that the whole loop thing is just one of those things that amusements parks put on their rides so the attendance at the park is greater, in other words a gimmick!   Well, you decide.  Here's the facts, use your noggin to conclude if SOB is a GIMMICK or THRILLRIDE...

Sure it's fun to have your hands waving around in the air.  But I would rather have my heart pounding through inversions.  The controversy in this weeks Hyper Notes has to do with the subject of hypercoasters vs. steel-looping coasters.   Why does a coaster have to automatically be a hyper if it's over 200 ft.?
